GUIDE TO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BY DAVE SWAGER

• I am located in central Virginia and will travel.
• My wedding photography style is primarily photojournalistic.  Posing is minimal and guided by what the Bride and Groom have expressed as their desire.
• I may work alone or with an assistant.
• I typically shoot 400-700 frames per wedding.  The actual amount is determined by "what it takes" to do a complete job.
• I shoot 100% digitally*.
• I always make it a point to familiarize myself with the wedding venue before the wedding day.
• If permitted, I likely will attend your wedding rehearsal.
• I always request at least an initial visit with the Bride and Groom well in advance of the wedding date.
• The most important reason for a visit is to allow an opportunity for the photographer and wedding couple to become acquainted and comfortable with one another.
• A second reason is information gathering - who, when, where, contact information, schedules, etc.
• Equipped with the above, the photographer and wedding couple can begin to formulate an objective and a plan for the wedding day.

*Advantages of digital photography - Digital photography permits tremendous flexibility with regards to what the final image output may be.  Color or black and white is a choice that can be made after the wedding.  Collages, wallpaper backgrounds, borders and special effects are facilitated by the digital process.  Slideshows on CD or DVD, complete with music or other audio are an easy possibility.
